According to Brazil’s President and Central Bank, China and Brazil are discussing initial steps of trading with one another in their own currencies instead of the Dollar. An aide to Brazil’s President stated, “Something that would have been unthinkable 10 years ago is a real possibility today.” This is yet another concrete move to challenge the supremacy of the US Dollar. Rapidly increasing debt, huge budget deficits, and excessive money printing continue to challenge the clout and purchasing power of our currency.

Rand, on the other hand, proposes paying down debt, balancing the federal budget, and increasing transparency at the Federal Reserve in order to save the value of our money.
