Dr. Paul was recently asked by the AP to comment on Sen. Mitch McConnell’s refusal to publicly endorse Jim Bunning:

Paul said Sunday he feels sympathy for Bunning, who he feels is getting “some mistreatment” by GOP leaders who are publicly trying to push him out. “But I think that Bunning has brought some of this on himself,” Paul said. “It still makes no sense to me that he encouraged someone else to form an exploratory committee.” Grayson’s campaign did not return a telephone call seeking comment.

Dr. Paul has been a staunch supporter of Bunning’s anti-bailout votes and will continue to uphold such fiscal responsibility if elected to the Senate. With Washington running up trillion dollar deficits, Dr. Paul believes it is time to bring some sense back to the federal government.

While campaigning with his father during last year’s presidential election, Dr. Paul noticed a frightening trend. As the Democratic primaries got bigger and bigger, the GOP got smaller and smaller. The party has lost a great deal of credibility and needs principled voices in the Senate to stand up for sound economics and fiscal restraint. We can’t solve this crisis of excessive debt with more debt.
