Rand Paul’s winning campaign message has furthered a nascent reform movement in the United States like no other first time candidate. Rand’s support for balanced budgets, lower taxes, strong national defense, and solid family values combined with his unwavering advocacy for a return to constitutional government have made him a household name in Kentucky and the leader in all election polls for the U.S. Senate race.
Rand’s frustrated opponents, after co-opting parts of Rand’s freedom message, have reduced themselves to employing the sour grape strategy. “Republicans generally don’t like media darlings,” groused one. Another mumbled something about Rand becoming a “rock-star.”
They’ve tried attacking Rand for his name, his family, his strong, consistent conservative message, and now they are reduced to complaining about him being the only candidate in the race who is being taken seriously. Freedom is not only popular, it appears to be a devastating political strategy as well.
