Rand tops $2 million

Rand Paul’s campaign contribution total went over the $2,000,000 mark Monday night with a donation from Boone County PVA Cindy Rich of Florence, Kentucky.

Kentucky blogger Marcus Carey weighed in on the meaning of reaching this important milestone:

“With $2 million raised by mid March, Paul has accomplished a goal which is poised to pay big dividends. In politics everybody wants to be with the winner, money begets money and the big money eventually gets bet on the front runner. What Paul is likely to experience in the next two months is an influx of big donors and the very real likelihood that his campaign will get through the May primary with the kind of war chest which will make even wealthy Jack Conway think twice about writing his own check.”

Proving that good policy makes for good politics, Rand supports a reform agenda that includes a balanced federal budget, term limits to rein in professional politicians, and strong national defense. He leads in all independent polls. His next big fundraising event is an online Money Bomb on March 23.
