Sarah Palin for Rand on Fox

Sarah Palin took to the airwaves Sunday on Fox News Channel in support of Rand Paul’s U.S. Senate campaign. The Hill has the story:

“Asked by “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace why she endorsed Paul, Palin said “Because he’s a federalist and he wants the states to have more say and as we respect the 10th Amendment in our Constitution, he wants the states to have more say in a lot of these issues.”"

“Palin’s endorsement of Paul is one example of the tension between the conservative grass-roots and the Republican Party establishment, which have clashed on the best way to defeat Democrats. The former governor has brushed off the notion of tension within the party, saying that competitive primaries are good for the GOP.”

Rand Paul has taken the state and, indeed, the nation by storm by campaigning for returning federal powers to the people by eliminating pork barrel earmark spending, requiring balanced federal budgets, and implementing term limits. Independent polling in recent weeks shows Rand Paul winning the Republican primary and the latest poll by Rasmussen last week showed Rand with more than enough Republican and Democratic support to win the general election handily. Interestingly, the Rasmussen poll showed Rand carrying support of an astounding two-thirds of registered independents.
