On Monday, Dr. Rand Paul traveled to Bardstown to help raise money for Republican State Senate candidate Jimmy Higdon, who faces a close race in the 14th district special election on Tuesday, December 8th. Droves of concerned citizens packed tightly into a private residence to hear from the candidates.

Dr. Paul was joined by U.S. Rep. Brett Guthrie, State Senate Majority Floor Leader Sen. Rob Stivers, Senate Majority Caucus Chairman Sen. Dan Seum, Minority Whip Rep. David Floyd, all of whom consider this a very important race.

As political maneuverings threaten to turn Kentucky’s entire legislature over to a single party, Dr. Paul addressed the importance of debate, both in government and within parties, and urged those assembled to support Mr. Higdon’s election efforts and keep the State Senate in Republican hands.

Special thanks to Rick & Nancy McCubbin for offering their home for the event, and the Republican Party of Kentucky staff for helping organize the event.
