Rand for tax reform

An article in Business Week titled “Fight the Deficit Monster with Tax Reform” might serve to get a discussion going on the federal level to revamp our mess of a tax code:

“The way to sell fiscal responsibility is to expand the revenue base and reward ordinary citizens with a much simpler tax code. The budget deficit offers an opportunity for leaders of both political parties to seize the mantle of tax reform.”

Rand Paul supports simplifying the tax code, whether it is by a flat tax or by replacing income taxes with a consumption tax. In any event, the Founding Fathers never intended for the tax code to be used as a weapon against United States citizens. Rand supports reforming the system by removing this power from special interests and their professional politicians.
