New York Times columnist Paul Krugman inadvertently spelled out exactly what is wrong with ObamaCare. He wrote:

“Guys, this is a major program to aid lower- and lower-middle-income families. How is that not a big progressive victory?”

“For people in the center who worry, as my colleague David Brooks puts it, that there may be unintended consequences if you ‘centrally regulate 17 percent of the economy’: um, it’s a little late for that.”

Exactly. Socialized medicine isn’t about lowering health care costs or improving health care. It also, despite what Krugman says, isn’t about helping low-income families. It is about government transferring wealth in order to buy votes for professional politicians and appease liberal activists and pundits. And health care regulation is already onerous enough with consequences intended by its purveyors to spread misery and create demand for more redistribution and regulation.

Rand Paul will never stop working to alert Kentuckians to the consumer benefits of free market capitalism in health care and throughout the American economy. Rand Paul’s strong support for health care reform that specifically precludes making government more powerful sets him apart as the best candidate to represent Kentucky in the United States Senate.
