WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, President Obama will award Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer with the highest honor bestowed on military, the Medal of Honor, for his valor and bravery in saving over 30 lives on one day in Afghanistan in 2009. Upon attending Sgt. Meyer’s Medal of Honor ceremony, Sen. Paul issued the following statement regarding the 23-year-old Kentuckian’s achievement and sacrifice.

“Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer has received numerous decorations and awards for his service and devotion to his country. This son of Kentucky has now received the highest honor, and the gratitude and pride of an entire nation for his service,” Sen. Paul said.
