Political activist, conservative writer, and former Jessamine County Republican Party Chairman David Adams was named campaign manager of Rand Paul for U.S. Senate, the campaign said today.

“I respect both major candidates in this race,” Adams said. “I think we will have a vigorous primary based on the issues and that the winner of the Republican primary will be the one most capable of building on Sen. Jim Bunning’s record of fiscal responsibility and adding solid constituent-based political independence America needs to shake up the established order.”

“Rand Paul has the ability to be that rare ‘break the mold’ United States Senator we need to bust out of our current malaise,” Adams said. “I believe he is the candidate Republicans will turn to on May 18, 2010 to represent their values and restore their freedoms.”

Rand Paul expressed confidence in the choice of Adams to manage his campaign.

“David has demonstrated creativity, diplomacy, and the tireless work ethic necessary to build a successful statewide campaign,” Paul said. “I’m excited to have his support and have great confidence in his ability to organize and build on the liberty movement in Kentucky.”
