Dr. Rand Paul and his campaign staff have been working long hours, tirelessly traveling the state and speaking with voters.

On Thursday of last week, Dr. Paul worked until 4P.M. before journeying to the Shelbyville GOP Meeting, where there weren’t enough seats for the friendly and enthusiastic crowd. Rand was the only speaker at the event, and was able to spend some time talking with people afterwards.

On Friday, Dr. Paul awoke early to do TV interviews with WKYT and WTVQ, as well as radio interviews on the Cruiser Show and Leland Conway. Rand met his opponent’s peculiar accusation about not being a Kentuckian head-on in the interviews, pointing out that he’s been a Kentuckian longer than Grayson has been a Republican!

That evening, Rand met with a group of elected officials and party members who are eager for the opportunity to move the party back toward its limited government roots.

On Saturday, the campaign went into high gear. Campaign Manager David Adams spoke at the Bullitt County Breakfast, sped to the Calloway County Picnic, and broke some records on his way to the annual Republican Chili Supper, where he spoke to a receptive group of several hundred.

Meanwhile, Rand was speaking to a standing-room-only event at the Bar None in Lexington, hosted by the Franklin County Young Republicans. The crowd had a good mix of all ages, and Dr. Paul got to meet many of them. Afterwards, he addressed the Republican Liberty Caucus in Georgetown and the Harrison County GOP Picnic.

Grassroots supporters also took initiative in spreading the word at a gun show in Owensboro, and other events elsewhere in the state.

Spurred by indications that he is closing in on his establishment opponent, Rand is sparing no personal effort to meet with Kentuckians and maximize the effect of every donation, an approach which contrasts the excesses in Washington today.

At this rate, Kentuckians will soon find themselves represented by a new champion to demand every budget be balanced, every dollar be spent responsibly, and that our liberties be restored.
