WASHINGTON, D.C. - In response to yesterday’s Virginia court ruling regarding the legality of President Obama’s oppressive health care legislation, Sen.-elect Rand Paul released the following statement today:

“I commend yesterday’s court decision in Virginia to stop the unconstitutional overreach of Obamacare. The individual mandate on American citizens to accept this government scheme is both unconstitutional and without precedent in our country. Americans are best served when the Constitution is upheld and protected, as it was in this case. I look forward to further success in repealing this massive, ill-conceived piece of legislation for the sake of all Americans. I will work in the U.S. Senate to repeal Obamacare and instead search for market-based solutions to improving our health care system.”
