The Money Bombs in late 2007 put the founding ideals of limited government back in the news. No longer can a politician simply put an “R” beside their name and magically transform into a conservative. In order to hold that sacred moniker, a politician must vote for the things conservatives stand for and believe in. These inlcude a belief in limited government, sound money and personal and economic liberty. Ron Paul’s presidential campaign created a strong coalition of conservative groups that came together in support of these principles. His son, Rand Paul–inspired by his father’s run for office–is seeking to replace retiring Senator Jim Bunning. Senator Bunning–known for his strong criticisms of The Federal Reserve–has a fellow anti-Fed follower, Rand Paul, trying to follow in his footsteps.
