U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul challenged his opponents on Tuesday to describe their support or lack thereof for requiring complete audits of the Federal Reserve System.

“Sen. Jim Bunning has been a leader in pushing for monetary accountability,” Dr. Rand Paul said. “Since the bank bailout last fall, understanding of this issue has increased dramatically. I’m confident Kentucky voters don’t want moderate half-measures on the integrity of our money supply. We can not afford to get squeamish and start backing away from what should be a big part of Sen. Bunning’s legacy.”

“It’s common sense that if we want to get honest about our nation’s problems, that we should quickly require our bankers to be honest with us,” Paul said. “If my opponents can’t agree with this, they should have to explain their reasoning.”
