Ford Motor Company, the only major domestic automaker to not accept Bank Bailout funds, reported quarterly profits on Monday of $997 million. Ford’s two Detroit competitors took bailouts and then took bankruptcy.
Meanwhile, commercial lender CIT, another bailout recipient, filed for bankruptcy and appears to have wiped out $2.33 billion in taxpayer-provided bailout funds.
Rand Paul has been by far the most outspoken opponent of federal bailouts in Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race and will continue supporting capitalism as the greatest job-creation machine known to man.
