Senate candidate Dr. Rand Paul helped open the new Republican headquarters in Madisonville. Paul made a stop along the campaign trail as he vies for the chance to replace retiring Sen.(R) Jim Bunning. Paul defended himself against his opponent Jack Conway’s ad on a medicare deductible. He also spoke about the negative impact of cap and trade and the health care reform bill. Hopkins county republicans are fired up at the chance to take political control of the county for the first time in more than 100 years. Local republicans say Hopkins county has long been known as a democratic county- but they are hopeful this ribbon cutting ceremony is a step toward gaining political ground in Western Kentucky.
