Protecting Grandma

Under intense bipartisan public pressure, President Obama and Congressional Democrats continue to backtrack on some of the most controversial elements of proposed ObamaCare health system reforms.

This comes after a Saturday Lexington Herald Leader blog post by reporter John Stamper suggested Dr. Rand Paul was lying when he expressed concern on national television about how Obama’s nebulous plans might impact sick people.

Here is what Dr. Paul actually said:

“The President says he is not going to pull the plug on Grandma, but I think what he really means is he’s not going to put the plug in in the first place because some committee is going to decide ‘what is the cost/benefit analysis for Grandma?’”

Bureaucratic health care rationing is a key part of socialized medicine. Rand Paul does not support federal mandates leading to health care rationing and will strongly oppose any health reform proposal involving an increase in government’s intrusion into private health care decisions.
