Allow better private options

The Obama Administration sent out a Kentucky-specific health reform email to media in the Bluegrass state Wednesday. In it, the Administration demonstrates that it fails to understand how to improve health care in America. The email contains a laundry list of statistics showing a worsening of insurance coverage since 2001 while ignoring the obvious fact that government’s role in health care has increased dramatically during that time.

Real reforms such as ending price-fixing for medical services, allowing people to purchase insurance across state lines, eliminating expensive coverage mandates to incentivize creative insurance solutions, and allowing medical professionals to deduct from taxation services for which they are not paid would reduce costs and improve services for everyone. The clear answer is to get government out of the way so free individuals can make the necessary reforms.

Dr. Rand Paul will maintain his aggressive approach to shaking the Washington D.C. establishment out of its current funk.
