Rand Paul is winning Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race, says Louisville Courier Journal columnist Al Cross, because of his focus on the issues Kentuckians care about.

“Paul leads in the polls … mainly because Paul has tapped into the anti-debt, anti-deficit thread that has always been strong among Kentucky Republicans,” Cross wrote in Sunday’s paper.

Rand’s common sense approach to government and his clear enunciation of conservative principles has motivated Kentuckians across the state to support his campaign. Election Day is May 18.
