BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky.—On Tuesday, Sept. 14, the U.S. Senate failed by a margin of 46-52 to pass a bill to repeal an onerous tax requirement within President Obama’s national health care plan.

The requirement forces businesses and non-profits to complete an IRS 1099 form for every purchase from every vendor more than $600. This measure is extremely harmful to small businesses and will cost Kentucky jobs. The Obamacare requirements impose a heavy cost on small businesses, and as a result will harm the overall economy that relies on small businesses for job creation.

Where is Jack Conway?

Jack Conway supports the Obama-Reid-Pelosi health care scheme and has refused to stand up for Kentuckians and against this harmful plan. Jack Conway supports the higher taxes, onerous requirements, and unconstitutional personal mandate and will stand with his liberal Washington allies, not for Kentucky.

At his press conference today announcing the endorsement of his candidacy by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Rand Paul had this to say on the matter: “The more we see of Obamacare, the more apparent it will be what a disaster it is for the economy, for business, for jobs, for everyone…this provision is going to be a mess of paperwork and an onerous burden for small businesses.”

Rand Paul understands that the government takeover of health care is bad for small business and bad for Kentucky. Dr. Paul will stand up for Kentucky and fight to overturn Obamacare in the United States Senate.
