Dr. Rand Paul has advocated cutting waste and excessive spending in the military budget, as well as significantly limiting the influence of corporate lobbyists, specifically those affiliated with companies engaged in overseas military operations. Confirming Rand’s position, the independent, Wartime Contracting Commission, is set to release a 111 page report detailing poor management, weak oversight, and a failure to learn from mistakes in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Department of Defense and private contractors have wasted billions of dollars of taxpayer money.
