Out of the way

Rand Paul’s common sense approach to government can’t get implemented quickly enough.

The tea party movement and Republican resurgence in Kentucky continues because the federal government still refuses to listen. Meanwhile, news last week that Washington D.C. Democrats want to continue marching up the socialized medicine hill has some Dems in flyover country getting fidgety.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said Obama should “rapidly decide what we’re doing on health care and then move to jobs and the economy. We need a national economic strategy.”

That would be funny if it weren’t such a disaster.

Rand Paul has said many times during the campaign that the federal government should quit trying to nationalize the health care system and quit trying to micromanage the economy. Bureaucratic attempts to outsmart markets and pick economic winners and losers waste time and money we don’t have.

Rand supports capitalism, free markets, low taxes, balanced budgets, and a quick end to wasteful spending and vote buying schemes posing as economic fixes. The era of the professional politician needs to end now.
